Taped 9/25/07 in Indianapolis, IN.
Aired on The CW
Report by Greg Parks, PWTorch.com

-This should be the last night I’m tied up with my seasonal job, so I should be able to do more real-time reviews, starting next week.

-WWE Open.

-Clips of last Friday’s wedding were shown.

-Backstage, Vince hugged Vickie, mentioning that Teddy had a massive heart attack. Apparently, he had a history of heart disease. Vince used his “the show must go on” quote, then named Vickie the new Smackdown GM. Before walking out, Vince almost walked into Finlay. The Little Bastard came up, and Vince and Finlay went off to talk about what to do with him.

-Smackdown Open.

-Tonight, Undertaker takes on Mark Henry. Michael Cole called it “a rare network television appearance for the Undertaker.”

1- TORRIE WILSON VS. VICTORIA
Victoria took down Torrie immediately. Torrie fought out of a front face-lock and hit a crossbody, then an arm-drag. Victoria tried literally clawing at Torrie in an ugly sequence. Torrie rolled up the former women’s champ for two. Jacknife cover for two, then Torrie got tossed outside. Victoria dropped Torrie face-first onto the apron. Snap suplex, float-over into a cover for a near-fall for Victoria. Victoria set up Torrie, but Torrie rolled through for a VERY near fall. Head-scissor take-over by Torrie, followed up by a clothesline. Face-buster, shades of X-Pac, for a two count. Victoria missed a corner charge and Torrie tried to roll her up, but Victoria sat down, with her knees on Torries shoulder. Then she grabbed the ropes for leverage and the pin.

WINNER: Victoria, at 3:24.

-After the match, a mystery woman came out of the crowd and attacked Torrie. Torrie was twisted around the ring post and thrown into the ringside barricade.

-Tonight, JBL interviews Rey Mysterio.

-The VIP Lounge was set up and ready for its host, MVP. It was a big party in the ring for the U.S and tag champ. MVP ran down Teddy Long, then mentioned that it was his one-year anniversary on Smackdown. Porter then began to knock Matt Hardy, saying Hardy rode his coattails to the tag team gold. Matt then broke up the party and was let into the VIP Lounge. Matt said he was hesitant about coming out, but it meant a lot to MVP, and they were tag partners. Matt had the WWE producers put together a video package highlighting MVP’s first year on Smackdown. Moments included being knocked out by Evander Holyfield, burned by Kane, and stunned by Steve Austin. And thanks to an inset screen, we got to see MVP’s reaction too. MVP, as expected, didn’t find it funny. Matt’s other gift, the big one, as he put it, was a bottle of champagne. Some of Porter’s entourage poured it and MVP back-tracked on all his negative Hardy comments. Matt toasted his partner, then called him egotistical and overrated, amongst other things. MVP then had security toss Hardy out of the Lounge. Before he left, Hardy had one more thing to say. Tonight, to prove he’s better than everyone else, Matt signed MVP up with a match with an old-time friend: Kane.

-Tonight, Undertaker returns to face Mark Henry.

[Break]

2- CHUCK PALUMBO VS. KENNY DYKSTRA
Head-lock take over started things for Custom Chucky P. Chuck with a knock-down, then ran across the ring and slammed Kenny into the buckle. Beal out of the corner, but Palumbo missed an elbowdrop. Kenny capitalized with a dropkick for only one. Palumbo fought off a sleeper by standing up and shrugging Dykstra off. Hard right hand followed by a back elbow. Dykstra was caught in mid-air and slammed by Palumbo, who then hit a short clothesline. Running boot from Chuck. Full Throttle finished what turned out to be a squash, surprisingly.

WINNER: Palumbo, at 3:28.

-Steve Austin signed copies of The Condemned at FYE in New York City.

[Break]

-Jesse and Festus on: Debuting. Apparently, it’ll take place next week.

-Michael Cole and JBL talked about the Punjabi Prison Match.

-Highlights of the Batista/Mark Henry match and Khali’s interference from last week were shown.

-The announcers talked to Batista, who was backstage. Batista admitted he was at a dis-advantage when it came to that type of match. JBL tried to get Batista to say he was scared of the Punjabi Prison Match, but Batista ended up calling JBL a loud-mouth and saying Khali would have to pry the title out of his hands.

-Kane was walking backstage, heading to the ring for his match next.

[Break]

3- MVP VS. KANE
MVP began by working on the left arm of Kane, who simply bodyslammed MVP to counter. Knockdown by Kane as MVP was coming off the ropes. MVP made the mistake of pushing Kane, who pushed back a tad harder. Uppercuts in the corner from Kane. Off the ropes, Kane set up for a big boot, but MVP took a breather. Kane went out after him and nailed him with another uppercut. Back in, MVP missed an elbowdrop, and Kane pulled him back out. MVP was able to escape to the other side and choke Kane on the top rope. Kane hit a boot on MVP as the U.S Champ was coming back in. MVP hit a dropkick to the knee, but was caught in a choke off the ropes and shoved into the corner. MVP countered with a back elbow, with some punches mixed in. He couldn’t suplex the big man though, and it was almost reversed, until MVP countered THAT by hitting a DDT. Neckbreaker by MVP for two. Kane was able to fight back, then went to the top rope. Clothesline missed, as MVP rolled out of the way. Cover off that only got two. More choking from Montel Vontavious Porter. He began to slow the match down a bit, but Kane tried to come back. He missed a corner charge, though, and MVP went for the running kick. That was missed, and instead, Kane hit a short-arm clothesline. Knees to the gut followed that, then a back body-drop. MVP worked out of a chokeslam, but both men knocked heads in mid-ring. MVP rolled to the outside to try to regain his bearings as we headed to break.

[Break]

MVP was working over Kane back from break. Running kick was hit by MVP. Cover only got two, though. Kane tried to come back again, but again, MVP stopped him. MVP then hit the running kick in the corner. Again, only two. MVP show-boated, which cost him, and Kane started his full comeback. Kane went to the top to hit the clothesline, but MVP met him up there. Kane knocked MVP off and finally hit the move. Kane was back-dropped over the top by MVP, but Kane held on, and grabbed a choke on MVP. Instead of getting chokeslammed, MVP took his health and ran, kicking Kane right between the legs for a DQ.

WINNER: Kane at 15:48.

-A diva search video aired.

-JBL got up and went to the ring to interview Rey Mysterio. That’s next.

[Break]

-JBL introduced his guest, Rey Mysterio, with little fan-fare. JBL warned him that he was going to deliver some hard-ball questions. Rey interrupted and asked JBL a question: Why all the hatred against Rey? JBL said it bothered him that he had to sit at the announce desk and talk about people who have half the talent he has. Rey pretty much challenged JBL, but JBL said he better worry about Khali next week. JBL then pushed Rey to the mat. Rey came back and knocked JBL down and hit the 619, followed by the seated senton. Out of nowhere, Finlay attacked.

[Break]

-Vickie Guerrero talked to Hornswaggle backstage about his Cruiserweight Title. She said him holding the title is a joke. She said Hornswaggle is a target now that he’s a McMahon. For his safety, she suggested he abdicate the title. He was disappointed, but she said he’ll thank her someday.

4- JAMIE NOBLE VS. SHANNON MOORE
I just noticed that Noble has taken on Kid Kash’s old music. Dropkick by Moore, followed by an atomic drop by the former Prince of Punk. Noble took a breather. Moore missed a baseball slide, but went on the attack outside. To the top, he missed a flying bodypress, landing on Noble’s knees. Noble applied a Walls-of-Jericho-like move on Moore, who quickly got to the ropes. Moore and Noble traded punches, but Moore hit a neckbreaker. Spinning heel kick by Moore. Shannon hit a crossbody off the second rope, then a legdrop. Noble had Moore up for an electric chair, but dropped him on his face. Gut-buster was hit, and Noble broke his losing streak.

WINNER: Noble at 3:03

[Break]

-The Great Khali and Runjin Singh talked about Batista being like a caged animal inside the Punjabi Prison. He then moved on to talk about Rey. Khali said he’d have No Mercy at...No Mercy.

-JBL and Cole ran down the No Mercy card.

-Mark Henry made his entrance for his main event match with Undertaker....it’s next.

[Break]

5- MARK HENRY VS. UNDERTAKER
Hopefully they keep this short. Henry immediately went to the outside once the bell rang. Taker followed him and Henry got the early advantage. In the ring, Henry pounded away in the corner, but Taker hit a boot in the corner. Right hands by Undertaker, who went to work on Henry’s shoulder. Taker went Old-School, but he jumped right into Henry’s arms. Henry slammed Taker in the corner, then splashed him. Henry hit some forearms, but Taker fought back. Henry put him down, then hit an elbowdrop for a near-fall. He went to the well once too often, missing with a second elbow attempt. The two started hammering away again, and this time, Taker cmae out on top. Well, for a second anyway. Taker went flying, hitting a clothesline as he came off the ropes. Clotheslines in the corner from Taker. Chokeslam attempt was batted away by Henry, but the second time was the charm. And that’s you’re main event.

WINNER: Undertaker at 3:39
